Mission

Our mission is to Set the Captives Free. To provide counseling and shelter for women and their children who have suffered under the affects of domestic abuse. To assist, through principles set forth by Jesus, in overcoming the arrested emotional/spiritual development due to abuse. To break the generational curse and thereby give the children a future based on godly living rather than violence.

We are dedicated to serving Women (and their children) who are currently suffering in an abusive relationship and who desire to resolve the issue in a God-honoring way. Women (and their children) who have a history of abusive relationships which now negatively affects their ability to relate in a godly, loving, and emotionally mature way with others. While we seek to provide aid and comfort to the lost, we also seek to minister in cases of domestic abuse within the Body of Christ and restore what the locusts have eaten.

Current Plan

Counseling Center: Out-patients services  include an evaluation of physical and mental health, substance abuse, abuse offender probability; biblically based counseling/therapy (both individual and group for adult women and their children), psycho-educational classes, Bible study classes, and special events (holiday parties, seminars, guest speakers); advocacy as needed to navigate the legal and benefit systems of government; referrals to other agencies/sources as appropriate or that better serve the client’s needs. All who qualify for the services provided by The Well of Sychar will be served without cost to the client. We are committed to serving “the least of these.”

If we can be of assistance to you, please contact us.

Next Step: To provide emergency shelter (1-5 nights) for the women, along with their children. This new facility will provide the space to offer more extensive services in the areas of advocacy, adult individual and group therapy, and children’s respite and counseling.

Full Vision: To maintain a public out-patient facility and emergency shelter as described above plus two additional facilities. One of these facilities will offer housing for up to three months for the women and their children who are able to support themselves and need time to reestablish themselves in the community. A second facility will be for women and their children who are in need of long term (up to two years) housing, counseling, and career training.

Now [Jesus] had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her     (NIV John 4:4ff emphasis added).
